Protein Marker, also known as protein molecular weight standard, is used to indicate the molecular weight of protein bands. Therefore, selecting the correct protein marker is one of the essential conditions for a successful Western Blot experiment. Our company offers a variety of ready-to-use protein markers, including prestained, unstained, and markers with low, medium, and wide molecular weight ranges to meet different experimental needs. Prestained protein markers consist of colored bands that are easy to identify and allow monitoring of electrophoresis progress and protein transfer efficiency, as well as approximate estimation of target protein molecular weight. Compared to prestained markers, unstained protein markers provide more accurate molecular weight determination and are commonly used in conventional SDS-PAGE followed by Coomassie Brilliant Blue staining or silver staining for assessing and comparing target protein molecular weights. However, they cannot be directly visualized during or immediately after electrophoresis.
