The GV3101(pSoup) strain has a C58-type background and contains a rifampicin resistance gene (Rif) as a selection marker in its nuclear genome. To facilitate transformation, this strain carries a nopaline-type Ti plasmid pMP90 (pTiC58DT-DNA) that lacks self-transfer function. Our GV3101(pSoup) chemically competent cells are prepared using a specialized process, with a transformation efficiency of ≥ 10³ cfu/μg DNA as assessed with pGs2 (KanR) plasmid.
