DH5α Competent Cells are one of the commonly used E. coli strains in laboratories, widely applied in molecular biology experiments such as gene cloning, blue-white screening, and stable plasmid amplification. Using pUC19 plasmid for heat shock transformation, the transformation efficiency can reach over 5 × 10⁸ cfu/μg DNA.
- This strain has low recombination frequency and is commonly used for preserving cloning plasmids
- For blue-white screening, pre-coat the plate with IPTG and X-gal
- Belongs to the *E. coli* K12 series, suitable for gene cloning; not suitable for protein expression using the T7 RNA polymerase expression system
- Free of exogenous plasmid DNA residue
