Thermostable RNase H is an endoribonuclease that retains activity at elevated temperatures (above 65°C). It selectively recognizes and cleaves the RNA strand in RNA:DNA hybrid duplexes while leaving the DNA strand intact. Thermostable RNase H does not degrade single-stranded or double-stranded RNA or DNA.
