Dispase is a nonspecific metalloproteinase derived from Bacillus polymyxa, free of mycoplasma and other animal virus contamination. It is commonly used for digesting cells cultured in Basement Membrane Matrixand for isolating single cells from various tissues or organs for subsequent cell culture, such as primary cell isolation and cell passaging. It can also be used to prevent cell aggregation during suspension cell culture. Compared to trypsin, collagenase, and pronase, Dispase offers high stability unaffected by temperature, pH, or serum components. It provides rapid yet gentle digestion with minimal cell damage while preserving membrane integrity, making it suitable for isolating various tissue and cell types. This product is a sterile solution in HBSS (pH 7.4), ready to use without preparation or dilution. Enzyme activity is 50 units/mL, with a recommended working concentration of 10 units (0.2 mL) per cm² of culture area.
